 Only 40 friends and relatives attended the wedding that no one's officially acknowledging between Beyonce Knowles and Jay-Z, according to People magazine.
The magazine reported that the bride wore white and the groom wore a black tux, and that there was no maid of honor or best man.
The ceremony reportedly took place under a white tent inside Jay-Z's living room that's as big as a basketball court, People reported, and 70,000 white orchids decorated the reception.
People said that the wedding took place on April 4 because four is their lucky number. They were both born on the fourth of a month, they met in 2002, which equals four if you add up the single numbers -- and they have matching tattoos of the number four in Roman numerals on their ring fingers.
Although they've never acknowledged it, Jay-Z, 38, and Beyonce, 26, have reportedly been dating for six years.As speculation continues about whether Jay-Z and Beyonce did actually get married at the weekend, the two singers may want to consider that power marriages in the music industry can hurt record sales.
Several music husband-and-wife teams that made it to the altar have seen mixed post-marriage sales numbers.
Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony both saw a decrease in album sales after they exchanged vows on June 5, 2004. Prior to their union, Lopez released three albums, which have sold a combined 8.1 million in the US, according to Nielsen Soundscan.
Lopez's post-wedding 2005 album, Rebirth, has sold 731 000 copies, while a pair of 2007 albums, Como Ama Una Mujer and Brave, fell to 200 000 and 154 000, respectively.
Anthony released seven albums between 1994 and early 2004, with combined sales of 2.5 million. His biggest selling album to date is his 2002 crossover set Mended, which moved 680 000 units.
