Sony Ericsson's upcoming smartphone, the Xperia X1, is scheduled to ship later in the year with the latest version of Internet Explorer Mobile, which Microsoft promises will bring desktop-like Web browsing to handsets.
Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 panels software is still in serious beta, but it has some nice potential. Basically, the panels are customizable Today screens that can act as general information displays, specific apps and programs, or portals to the internet.
On the goldfish panel, the fish don't just respond to your touch, they change colors depending on battery life, incoming calls, or other status reminders.
We're pretty confident that Sony Ericsson will smooth out the interface to make it more responsive.
