Mariah Growing Up Bi-Racial

Pop diva Mariah Carey and her rapper husband Nick Cannon are thinking the family way and planning to have a baby soon.
Mariah recently spoke to the media about what she went through growing up bi-racial: Her mother was Irish American and her father was of Afro-Venezuelan and African American descent her paternal grandfather, Roberto Nu\~nez, changed his surname to Carey to better assimilate upon moving to the United States from Venezuela.

‘Growing up and being half-black, half-white, I felt weird; I didn’t look like anybody. My friends were all different from me,’ Mariah told StyleList.com of her childhood insecurities. ‘No one knew how to fix my hair. My facial features stood out. And I know we [mixed people] all say that. But even though I’ve grown since, some of those things still remain with me.’
The 28-year-old hip hop artist also revealed that the couple are planning for a small family with one kid who gets all their attention, Contactmusic reported.

“Of course, we’d be happy with one. I want to be able to manage the right amount of attention. We are so busy ‘ if you have six kids running around, no one gets what they need. Kids need a lot of attention,” Cannon said. Though Carey got married to fellow pop tart Nick Cannon last year, on this album she is constantly fending off heartbreak and lashing out at unworthy suitors. Turmoil rules.

‘I pulled to the side of the road, to fix my face/But I can’t cover with makeup what my tears want to erase,’ she sings in ‘Betcha Gon’ Know.’As two world-famous actors and pop singers, Mariah Carey and husband Nick Cannon rarely have the opportunity to get romantic. At least not in the same area code. In a recent interview, the two claimed they engage in hot and steamy phone sex in order to keep their romance burning.
